Drake Scores Six 2016 MTV Video Music Award Nominations

The nominations are in! With the announcement of the full list of nominees for the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, Drake earns six nominations — including Video of the Year for “Hotline Bling.”

MTV revealed its full list of nominations Tuesday (July 26) on Facebook Live, with the Video of the Year nominees being painted onto a panoramic mural in New York’s East Village. Drake is up against Adele’s “Hello,” Justin Bieber’s “Sorry,” Beyonce’s “Formation,” and Kanye West’s “Famous,” for Video of the Year.

Drake is nominated for a total of six awards — Male Video, Best Hip-Hop Video, Best Art Direction, and Video of the Year for “Hotline Bling,” plus Best Collaboration and Best Female Video with Rihanna for “Work.”

The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcast live from Madison Square Garden in New York City on Sunday, August 28 at 9:00 p.m. ET.
